Wow, Chris. I really enjoyed reading your depiction of Akhenaten’s reign. Very clearly presented and packed with information.
I think for a future article you should consider dissecting the process behind writing an article like this. Do you have a set of notes next to you? Are you following an outline? How much time was put into writing this article? How many drafts did you go through? Do you focus on one paragraph at a time and polish it up until you’re satisfied, or do you write everything in one go and come back to revise?
One book that I quite enjoyed reading is Stephen King’s “On Writing” in which he goes into his own method and lays out the way he writes his novels. He discusses his daily routine, his motivation and how he comes up with and develops the plot to his stories. My favourite admission of his has to do with not ever planning out his books. He has an idea and runs with it, reasoning that if he surprises himself, the reader will be surprised as well. I thought that was quite the gem to discover.
Hope you’ll give consideration to my suggestion. I’m sure many others would also be interested in reading about how and why you do what you do.
