What bothers me is not that Caitlin has an issue with American imperialism, for a long time I sided with her on this issue. Yes, American foreign policy has severely damaged and destroyed both people and governments over several decades.
What DOES bother me is her pigeon-headed stubborn refusal to notice the positive changes that has been made to foreign policy by the present administration. Here I thought, for a long time, that Caitlin was non-partisan and willing to call it like it is.
But now I see that is NOT the case and she never was who I assumed her to be. A fair and rational intellectual voice fueled by noble intentions and a desire to honor truth each step of the way.
I’m upset at her because she hoodwinked me. I’m angry because she dishonors truth by spreading ignorance and bias in promoting a perspective that is as ugly as American imperialism itself, becoming the very thing she claims to be against. Rigid, inflexible, stubborn and authoritarian.
I strongly believe that as human beings in this world who desire to place a finger upon the pulse of society — we MUST encourage and reward critical and impartial analysis of the many important issues that we face. People like Caitlin are those we place trust in so that we, with our busy lives and responsibilities can offload the research and commentary onto someone who earns a living prioritizing the finding and reporting of truthful information.
This is NOT a partisan issue for me like you are suggesting. As I said, I disliked both the Democrats and Republicans ever since Bush stole the election from Al Gore. Only now, with all the time the pandemic has freed up for me, I am able to do in-depth research and come to my own conclusions based on facts that are being reported across multiple sources and they do NOT line up in the same way that Caitlin has been presenting her narrative as.
So yes, I am upset at her for not being the impartial, unbiased voice I trusted her to be. The voice she claims herself to exemplify and express. In short, she is willfully ignoring contradictory evidence to her views and promoting falsehoods to readers who may not have been able to study news and politics in as much detail as these topics deserve.
I’m not holding onto hate as you claim me to be, I’m only standing up against what I perceive to be a deception that is done from a desire to substantiate and promote a false ideology. That’s what my problem is right now and sticking up for the truth is something I will be doing until the end of my days.
I wish I could say the same of Caitlin. Fantastic writer and intelligent but clearly not interested in fairly reporting the facts before unleashing condemnation on the Trump administration who I believe is doing amazing work for the citizens of the United States and the world with their approach to foreign policy and the handling of this pandemic. You won’t see Caitlin mention the press conference where President Trump ordered churches to open and you will not see Caitlin acknowledge the importance of tariffs against China or the atrocities being committed by the Chinese Communist Party. She is clearly on the side of the CCP from what I can tell and her communist sympathies has erased what little respect I had left for her.
Just my thoughts. Hope this clarified my position and addressed your questions.
