Thank you again for such a thoughtful reply! You are certainly not the kind of leftist I have expected to engage in a debate with but I’m happy a little of what I said has come through to you.

I think we have to have faith in our leaders. I know, I know, blasphemy isn’t it? After so many years of being screwed over we’ve lost confidence in those that get elected. With or without our vote.

But this is different. These are unprecedented times and unprecedented things are happening. Look at Hong Kong and what China is doing. That’s another frightening layer to be adding on top of the riots, the virus and the economy imploding.

Face it, this feels like and most likely is, the most important period of human history since world war II and we are all right in the middle of it. Years from now this will be talked about with our grandchildren and history will ultimately be the judge of all that has transpired once the smoke clears. Either Trump was exactly the type of leader we needed (obnoxious personality included) or he was a failure and has lead us to even darker depths.

As someone who believes in the presidency, I truly feel that Trump will be spoken about positively in the years to come. We will remember this strange billionaire, celebrity, womanizer character as the man who brought America into a new age. It sounds trite, but MAGA are words worth fighting for. Not just for Americans but the world in general. We all want to make our countries great again. I know I do, up here in Canada but we do not have the kind of leadership that the Americans do. Therefore, all we can do is pray that our Prime Minister is not going to be screwing us over further with his vaccine developed in conjunction with the Chinese military. It’s frightening here in Alberta due to our unemployment numbers and an apparent pedophile at the helm of our country.

So, my personal hope in all this is that America will lead the way forward through the workings of the Trump administration. This is all the hope I really have and I don’t think it is being misplaced from all of what I’ve read and seen so far.

I gave you a follow because unlike most leftists or Caitlin, you at least appear to be someone capable of reasoning rather than blind and ignorant hate. I’m glad people like you exist.
