Moments are frail and slip through our fingers,
The sun sets, yet the moon still lingers,
Know that I have long awakened to who that you are,
Perched faraway onto the most distant of stars.
Stretched upon the canvas of my mind,
Painted along with others of your kind,
A landscape of bodies left behind,
A eulogy of all those who were most unkind,
Scattered like shells upon shores I find.
The gift of a grifter leaves an unpleasant taste,
And bears on the soul, a hurried haste,
To seek that which is authentic, honest and real,
Born of ripened fruit, with sacred layers to peel.
It is not all your fault, it has also been mine
Cursed with an imagination to eclipse the divine;
Cursed with a blindness to deny the signs;
Cursed with ability to read between lines;
Ignoring it all, to think everything was fine.
Thank you twin, for answering my questions,
Can another be transformed to love from sin?
Who am I really, the frog or the scorpion?
Is this how stories of greatness begins?
It has been a while since I laid down words,
Thoughts restrained now released as birds,
The perfect teacher, love may have been,
The perfect pupil, yet to be seen.
Eyes above, gazing on the (blood) moon,
To that which I aim, shall arrive quite soon.
In my heart, from the beginning to the end,
I thank you with gratitude for the wisdom you send.
I would have liked to have it another way,
But my purpose revealed itself not to say.
For once the night withers to become the day,
So shall the sandbox of heavens, welcome our play.
Truth is a compass and love is the map.
For without, we are lost.
